 Introduction

• My name is Ella Wise and I came to JCoSS sixth form from Queen Elizabeth Girl school. I attended QEGs from year 9 to year 11 as I lived in America for three years where I attended BISB (British International School of Boston) from year 6 to year 8. I have 2 younger brothers, one of which attends JCoSS in year 9 and the other is still in primary school in year 5.
• I decided to take media studies because I really want to get into animation and visual development as a career, so after seeing that the course content involved digital animation and comic/graphic novel development, I thought it would be a good course to take. My hobbies are mostly art but I also enjoy watching animated movies and series. Id say my favourite movie is "Spirited Away" which is part of the 'Studio Ghibli' franchise.
• I also take film studies because I thought that would be a good think to study as I enjoy watching films and I think it would help me try get a career in animation. Id say 'Studio Ghibli' films are my favourite as I love the art style and all the Japanese culture behind them. My favourite Studio Ghibli films are "Spirited Away" and "Laputa, Castle in the Sky".

I really enjoy "Spirited Away" because of the drawn animation style and the amazing sound track that comes along with it. I also really love the background art because its extremely detailed but still sticking to the 'animated' look and it looks beautiful.

All of the movies in the 'Spirited Away' franchise stick to the same theme of fairy tale like stories with mythical creatures which are influenced by Japanese folklore.

Im really exited to get more into my chosen subjects and learn more about media.
